A man and woman have been taken to hospital following a dog attack in an Aberdeenshire village.

Officers from Police Scotland raced to the Claymore Crescent area of Boddam at around 4pm on Saturday, September 7 following reports two people had been attacked.

The condition of both individuals involved in the incident is currently unknown. Following the attack, the dog was seized and destroyed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4pm on Saturday, 7 September, 2024, police received a report a man and woman had been attacked by a dog in Claymore Crescent, Boddam.

“Officers attended and both injured parties were taken to hospital. The dog was seized and has been destroyed. Enquiries are ongoing.”
