Kilmarnock’s Kitchens by J S Geddes has celebrated 40 years in business.
The company celebrated the milestone with chef Ally Beattie providing some culinary delights. Over 60 guests attended, including suppliers, previous customers and some prospective clients.
TV celebrity from Scottish Homes Show and interior designer, Anna Campbell Jones, was also among invited guests.
Anna took part in the Q&A session with Design Director, Joanna Geddes, where other guests were able to quiz her.
The family business started by Jim Geddes in 1984 has been leading the way in design, materials, service and innovation ever since.
Kitchens by J S Geddes are influenced by German innovation, with all designs tailored to individual preferences to create bespoke features.
The business has been recognised as ‘UK Kitchen Retailer of the Year’ on eight occasions. They were also recognised as ‘Scottish Home Improvement Business of the Year’ in 2015 and were recognised for individual achievements, including Joanna Geddes earning the title of ‘Kitchen Designer of the Year’ in 2018.
Managing Director Jim said: “In 1984 – before the internet grabbed a hold of us – mobile phones were very much in their infancy and George Orwell decided to write a book about the year.
“But ‘the most important news’ was the inception of Kitchens by J S Geddes. Fitted kitchens were starting to take off and a small independent company opened their doors and introduced new and exciting design ideas to potential clients including laminate worktops, integrated appliances, wood cabinet doors, and kitchens with breakfast bars – trends were beginning.
“Fast forward 40 years to 2024 and this small company is now one of the UK’s best known kitchen businesses.
“It leads the way in design, materials, service and innovation and continues to strive forward with a talented, motivated and functional team of kitchen professionals.”
Jim added: “Our best achievement initially was our ten years – then 20, 30 and now 40 years of business which all of our team are extremely proud of.
“Thank you to our customers for supporting Kitchens by J S Geddes over the years and commissioning us to carry out your kitchen renovations.”
