David Raya was seen limping and with some strapping on his leg after Arsenal’s dramatic draw with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners goalkeeper was in fine form at the Etihad but could not keep the champions out at the death as John Stones scrambled home an injury-time equaliser in the 2-2 draw.
It was a game full of incident, with Erling Haaland giving the home side an early lead before goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel put Arsenal ahead.
Leandro Trossard was then shown a red card just before half-time and Mikel Arteta’s men would attempt to block out the entire second half, trying desperately to hang onto the lead they had earned.
It very nearly worked as City proved pretty blunt in their attempts to break them down, but eventually it was a scrappy goal that came deep into injury time as the England international pounced on a loose ball in the box.
The late equaliser was disappointing for Arsenal and there was more concerning news after the game as Raya was seen limping and with some strapping just below his right knee.
The Spaniard played the full game and the extent of the injury is not known, but he certainly looked in some discomfort in the footage from after the huge game in Manchester.
Arsenal are next in action at home to Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, a game Raya may well have been rested for anyway.
However, Arteta will be very keen to have his first choice stopper available again for their next Premier League outing at home to Leicester City on Saturday.
While he conceded two goals, Raya played really well on Sunday, making a string of good saves and commanding his penalty area impressively.
Summer signing Neto is now his understudy for the Gunners after he arrived from Bournemouth and Aaron Ramsdale moved to Southampton.
The 35-year-old Brazilian was on the bench on Sunday but is yet to make his debut for Arsenal.
