Detectives are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set on fire outside a property in Chapelhall.

The act of “wilful fire-raising” took place outside a property in the village’s Dalbeattie Braes at around 10.30pm on September 18.

Emergency services attended and the vehicle was found to be “extensively damaged”.

Detective Constable Lynne Thomson told Lanarkshire Live: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the fire who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to please get in touch.

“We would also urge any members of the public with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could be of significance to the investigation to pass this on to officers.”
