A Jet2 flight from Burgas, Bulgaria, to Liverpool was forced to divert to Cologne following the tragic death of a man on board.
The flight LS3214 departed from Burgas for the UK at around 1pm local time (12pm BST) on Monday, September 23, with the crew declaring an emergency roughly two hours into the journey.
Upon landing in a remote section of the runway at Cologne in Germany, a medical team rushed onto the plane. Despite the valiant efforts of passengers and crew to revive him, the man, who reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest, was pronounced dead.
Online flight tracking data confirmed the diversion of the Jet2 LS3214 flight to Cologne on Monday. After several hours at the airport, the plane eventually set off for Liverpool at 9.55pm (10.55pm BST).
