A man who died following a crash on the A977 in Kinross-shire has been named.

Emergency services were called to the two vehicle collision, involving a car and a lorry, around 5pm on Thursday, September 19.

James Hynd (85), from Dollar, Clackmannanshire – the driver of the car – was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he died yesterday.

His family have requested their privacy be respected.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and officers continue to appeal for information.

Road Policing Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with James’ family and friends at this very difficult time. Officers will continue to offer support throughout our investigation.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far. If anyone has information and has not already spoken to police, I’d urge them to get in touch. I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage which may assist our enquiries.”
