People have been left fuming after discovering a viral Primark cardigan listed on Vinted for more than double its original price.

As the autumn season rolls in, many are reaching for their jumpers, cardigans, and fluffy socks to combat the chillier weather and with the change of season comes the desire for new wardrobe additions. Primark, known for its wallet-friendly prices, has released a cardigan that shoppers are “so obsessed” with.

This snug cardigan, complete with buttons and pockets, is available for £19 both online and in-store. “This cardigan creates a boxy silhouette you’ll love with its round neck, button front, and relaxed fit,” boasts Primark. Customers have been flocking to their nearest store to snap up the item before it sells out – and while many have been successful, some have found themselves too late.

However, one savvy shopper who did manage to purchase the sought-after cardigan decided to list it on Vinted after noticing its soaring popularity. But shoppers have been left stunned by the resale price tag – £40.

TikTok content creator Georgia Churchill (@georgiachurchill), known for her beauty, fashion, and book recommendations, publicly criticised the seller’s actions. She said: “I’m sorry, what? This is Primark we’re talking about. I know everyone is going absolutely crazy for this viral cardigan from Primark but I was absolutely gobsmacked when I saw the price of it on Vinted.

“People are selling it for £40. It costs £19 in store. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lovely cardigan but £40 – are you okay? She added: “The world’s gone insane.”

As the debate heated up online, one person noted they had seen someone list a jumper for an even higher price, commenting: “Someone was selling the £17 burgundy jumper for £50.”

A second said: “People have no shame omg,” and another added: “People are so wild.” Meanwhile, another social media user pointed out: “People need to stop buying it from these girls and letting them do it, winds me up so much.”
