Princess Anne made an impromptu visit outside one of Stirling’s finest pie shops today during a whirlwind visit.

The Princess Royal was spotted getting out of a vehicle in the city’s Port Street and mingled with gathering crowds outside the Hugh Black & Sons shop on Tuesday afternoon.

In a short video clip, posted by staff at the Stons store – a clothing boutique in Port Street – posted footage to their Facebook page.

Princess Anne pulled up a large grey Range Rovers, flanked by security.

Upon exiting the vehicle, the Princess was greeted by The Lord-Lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk, Alan Simpson, and shared a moment with Stirling Council Provost Elaine Watterson and council chief executive Caroline Sinclair.

A curious crowd had gathered and there was also a police presence in the area during the visit.

It remains unclear why the Princess was in the city and if she sampled any of the tasty treats from the butcher shop.
