GBBO Paul Hollywood tied the knot with his second wife last year, but what’s the age difference between the couple?

The Great British Bake Off is set to return, with Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith ready to judge the delicious bakes, while Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond take on the hosting roles.

As a staple of the Channel 4 show since its inception, it’s no surprise that fans are keen to learn more about Paul’s life off-screen.

What is the age gap between GBBO’s Paul Hollywood and his wife?

Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood wed pub owner Melissa Spalding last year in a ceremony at the Ayia Athanasia chapel at the Anassa Hotel in Cyprus.

Paul is 58-years-old, while his wife Melissa is 41, resulting in a significant 17-year age difference between the newly married pair.

It’s been reported that Paul and Melissa first crossed paths at The Chequers Inn in Smarden near Ashford, where she is the landlady and he was a frequent patron.

Last year, the Mail On Sunday revealed that she had moved into his 18th-century farmhouse after the pub where she resided was put up for sale.

Before his relationship with Melissa, Paul dated Summer Monteys-Fullam, a barmaid at another local pub, who was 29 years his junior.

Their relationship ended in 2019, but this wasn’t the first time Paul’s love life made headlines.

Paul was previously married to Alex Hollywood for 21 years, with whom he shares a son, Josh Hollywood.

However, the couple’s marriage came undone after he admitted to an affair with chef Marcela Valladolid during their time on the US version of ‘The Great British Bake Off’, known as ‘The American Baking Competition’. He labelled the indiscretion as the “biggest mistake” of his life.

Despite a short-lived reconciliation with Alex, the two were unable to salvage their relationship, resulting in their divorce being finalised five years prior.

The Great British Bake Off premieres on Tuesday, September 24, at 8pm on Channel 4.
