A Galloway maker has been selected to exhibit at a prestigious contemporary Scottish design event.

Frances Ross will show her innovative piece Porcelain Fluid Screen at the Dundee Design Festival from September 23-29.

The celebration of contemporary design will have more than 100 participating designers and a variety of exhibitions and installations.

It will be Scotland’s biggest design event.

Frances’ work forms part of the FRAMEWORK: exhibition which comprises a snapshot of Scottish contemporary design today.

She told the Standard: “My work Porcelain Fluid Screen is one of my signature pieces and has taken a great deal of development,

“I’m very proud and honoured that it’s been selected for Dundee Design Festival.

“It’s a great accolade that it will appear in the unique context of a national celebration of design, alongside the work of the most exciting designers in Scotland.”

Frances, from Sorbie near Wigtown, works with cast porcelain.

Her creation Porcelain Fluid Screen is the distillation of her research and study into the movements and patterns of flowing water.
