(Gray News/AP) – President Joe Biden is scheduled to host a reception with world leaders launching a joint declaration of support for Ukrainian recovery and reconstruction on Wednesday in New York.

The reception comes on the same day that Biden is making an appearance on ABC’s “The View” in his first interview since the Democratic National Convention and ABC News presidential debate.

It also comes on the same day that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the United National General Assembly about his country’s efforts against the Russian invasion that started in February 2022.

Zelensky re-iterated his peace proposal: the expulsion of all Russian forces from Ukraine and accountability for war crimes, the Associated Press reported.

“Any parallel or alternative attempts to seek peace are, in fact, efforts to achieve an out instead of an end to the war,” he said.

“Do not divide the world. Be united nations,” he implored. “And that will bring us peace.”
