A quick-witted good Samaritan helped save an autistic man who jumped off a Brooklyn pier into Jamaica Bay.

A 25-year-old autistic man was on a field trip with other adults and caretakers at Canarsie Pier in Brooklyn when he broke away from the group and jumped into the water around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, cops said.

A 49-year-old man nearby who witnessed the incident immediately jumped into the water to save the younger man.

NYPD Emergency Service Unit officers were in the area and helped pull both men out of the water.

The pair were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.
