A truck driver and a father of three recently won a $1 million lottery prize on a scratch ticket purchased at a convenience store.(Massachusetts State Lottery)

EVERETT, Mass. (Gray News) – A lucky lottery player in Massachusetts recently won a $1 million prize on a scratch-off ticket he bought from an area convenience store.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Pedro Chacon, a truck driver and a father of three, won the top prize while playing the $1M Winning 7 instant ticket game.

Lottery officials said Chacon chose to receive his winnings in a one-time payment of $650,000.

Chacon says he plans on putting his winnings toward his children’s education.

The Fine Mart convenience store on Ferry Street in Everett will also receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the winning ticket.
