GILBERT, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) – Surveillance video appears to show a man accused of crawling under several women’s vehicles while they were at a car wash in Arizona last month.

Gilbert police officers were called on Aug. 29 to investigate three instances where a man, identified as 28-year-old Jesse Johnson, was allegedly spotted crawling under vehicles while women were vacuuming at a car wash near Val Vista Drive and Riggs Road.

Several witnesses and surveillance cameras reportedly saw Johnson crawling under the vehicles.

According to court documents, while the women were vacuuming their vehicles, Johnson hid under their cars for several minutes before climbing out from underneath.

Security cameras show Johnson parking next to a woman’s white SUV despite several empty parking spaces. Johnson exits the car and moves toward the front of the woman’s vehicle as she’s vacuuming.

The woman vacuums for several minutes until Johnson unexpectedly pops out from underneath her vehicle. He then moves back toward his car and appears to be “cleaning” his rear tire.

Police say since the women didn’t know what Johnson had done at first, they went to get their vehicles inspected for possible damage or to see if he had placed a tracking device underneath their cars.

Court papers stated the women described the incidents as “very unsettling,” with one of them saying she experienced nightmares.

Authorities searched criminal Johnson’s criminal history and learned he had been arrested several times in Nebraska for a similar crime.

Authorities said Johnson admitted to law enforcement in the Midwest that he “is sexually attracted to women’s feet” and “at times, can’t control his sexual desires.”

Arizona police say Johnson was taken into custody on Tuesday and booked on three counts of voyeurism and three counts of disorderly conduct.
