Benidorm is well known for its party atmosphere and budget-friendly holidays – but one man has a cautionary tale about the cheap pints there.

As UK pub prices continue to rise, many are opting for party destinations like Benidorm due to their incredibly low drink prices. However, one local resident has issued a warning about these €1 pints. Benidorm bar owner @frankthestagman stated: “Let me tell you something about drinks that you get for €1. They are absolute rubbish.”

He advised against visiting establishments advertising €1 pints, describing them as the “bottom of the barrel”. Frank emphasised that customers “get what you pay for”, suggesting it’s worth spending a bit more for a quality drink.

He warned that bars offering €1 pints do so for a reason, and it’s not in the customer’s best interest, as spending a little extra could be a small price to pay for maintaining good health while on holiday, he claimed.

He labelled the cheap alcohol as “chemical horrible rubbish”, adding: “If you get an upset stomach and all that, your holiday’s over”. While some commenters defended the one euro pints, claiming they’ve “never had a problem with them”, others agreed with Frank’s sentiments, with one writing: “Well done Frank about time someone said it”.

A former hospitality worker revealed: “We did €1.50 a pint at the bar I used to manage in Tenerife, it was the same Dorada barrel that was used when the offer wasn’t on…..”

Some people thought this was “sound advice”, but others admitted they wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation of cheap drinks. One TikToker confessed: “I’m only going for the cheap pints”.

A social media user noted that finding these deals isn’t always easy, as prices can vary depending on the time of day. Others expressed their excitement about visiting Benidorm, as they were currently planning their holidays there.
