Strictly Come Dancing fans were left in stitches as comedian Chris McCausland pointed out a humorous issue on tonight’s show. Taking to the dance floor with partner Dianne Buswell for the second week of the BBC competition, the Liverpudlian performed a charming Foxtrot to ‘Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy’.

As the first blind contestant on the show at 47, Chris wowed viewers with his impressive talent.

However, post-performance, Chris expressed his discontent to Claudia Winkleman, revealing a “problem” that left her in giggles. He confessed: “I’m not happy to be honest as they’ve put me on 10 minutes before the Liverpool game ends. That’s half of Liverpool watching the football, that’s half of my core voter group.”

Despite his concerns about the scheduling clash with the Liverpool match, Chris delivered a stunning dance that impressed the judges, earning him 29 points from Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, and Anton Du Beke.

Born in West Derby, Chris has been entertaining audiences since 2003. Having lost his vision at 22 due to the genetic condition retinitis pigmentosa (RP), Chris has become a talented comedian, reports Liverpool Echo.

Chris has been receiving heaps of admiration from fans on Twitter, who have taken to the platform to commend his performances on this series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Fans have been tweeting their support, with one saying: “Chris needs to win this, he’s on the Bill Bailey arc of ‘genuine beginner to joyful dancer’.”

Another shared their emotional response: “Chris making me well up at the TV every week with pride”, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

One viewer remarked: “I still get emotional when Chris last night said on Dianne’s vid diaries that he feels left out when he’s literally the SOUL of the show this series”.

And yet another said: “Why do I always have a lump in my throat watching Chris dance? That was beautiful!”

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Sunday night.
