Police in Edinburgh have scrambled to an incident on a busy main road which left a bus stop obliterated.

The road smash reportedly took place at around 10.30pm on September 28.

Local cops were directing traffic at the scene of the incident and is it unknown if anyone was hurt.

A glass stop with a metal frame looked to be destroyed in the collision. One bystander shared images with Edinburgh Live showing a damaged bus being repaired by an engineer close to the scene.

Workers could be seen attempting to clear the area of debris, while shocking images show shards of glass strewn across the pavement opposite the BP Petrol Station in Slateford.

The front of a Lothian Bus was visibly damaged. Several officers and repair workers in high-vis jackets were visible on site.

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
