A tragic triple stabbing on the streets of Clapham has resulted in one fatality and two individuals hospitalised following an early morning altercation, as confirmed by emergency services. Paramedics were dispatched to Wandsworth Road on the border of Clapham and Battersea at 4am today after receiving reports of the incident.

The London Ambulance Service has declared one victim deceased while another was urgently taken to a major trauma centre, reports the Mirror.

The violent event has prompted the shutdown of Wandsworth Road from Queenstown Road to Lambourn Road as emergency teams manage the situation. The disruption has spilled over to traffic between Clapham Junction and Clapham Old Town, with diversions affecting three London bus routes.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service recounted: “We were called at 4:07am today (Sunday, September 29) to reports of a stabbing incident in Wandsworth Road. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.”

They continued, detailing the response efforts: “Our crews treated three people at the scene. Sadly, despite the best effort of emergency services, one person died at the scene. One person was conveyed to a major trauma centre and another was conveyed to hospital.”
