Sainsbury’s has recalled two food products, with customers urged to ‘not eat’ them over allergy risks.

The recalls have been issued for The Yorkshire Provender Jacket and Toast Topper Mexican Inspired Lentil Chilli and the Yorkshire Provender Jacket and Toast Topper Haricot Beans in a Spicy Tomato Sauce.

The products could contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label and could therefore pose a risk to people with nut allergies.

The affected Yorkshire Provender items have a use-by date of October 16, 2024.

The Food Standards Agency said: ‘If you have bought the above products and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat them.

‘Instead return them to the Sainsbury’s store from where they were bought for a full refund or contact Hain Daniels’ customer service team.’

A statement from Sainsbury’s said: ‘People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may be at risk if they consume these products.
