VCH Volunteers Present a Check to PCH Leadership(WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital)

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital announced a donation totaling $45,000 to support areas throughout the hospital. The announcement was made in a press release on Oct. 1

In the press release, PCH announced that the Princeton Community Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary donated the money to support various departments and initiatives throughout the hospital. The donation, PCH said, will fund essential equipment upgrades and improvements that will help patient care and services.

The $45,000 donation will be allocated as follows:

  • Emergency Department – $18,000 for 15 ophthalmoscope/otoscope transformers, replacing end-of-life equipment to ensure top-tier diagnostic capabilities.
  • Behavioral Health Pavilion of the Virginias – $5,200 for a new ice dispenser in the geriatric unit, replacing the current broken equipment.
  • Oncology Clinic – $2,800 for two new wheelchairs, enhancing mobility for patients.
  • Oncology Inpatient Unit – $6,100 for a blanket warmer, providing comfort and warmth to patients.
  • Marketing Department – $5,300 for a versatile inflatable tent to be used at community events such as parades, health fairs, and more, helping PCH engage with the community.
  • Nutrition Services – $3,500 for a new ice maker and $3,700 for a sandwich/salad prep refrigerator, both for the new kiosk servicing the Parkview area. These upgrades will provide better service to visitors and staff.
