Kirsty Gallacher was left “reeling” after a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet exposed more than she expected.

The 48-year-old former Sky Sports presenter confessed she has never been a fan of red carpet appearances. But remembers one particular occasion when the flashes from the paparazzi turned her dress transparent.

The Scottish star said she was “reeling” the following day. She recalled the “cringe” incident on the Monday Mile podcast with Aimee Fuller.

Kirsty said: “Red carpet, it ain’t my thing. And this particular dress, little did we know when the old flashes flashed, you could see my boobs and my nipples.

“Horrendous. They only chose that picture and it was like ‘oh gosh’ and luckily, when you’re pregnant you have slightly more buoyant boobs, that’s all I’ll say.

“You should have seen me, the day after I was reeling I was so cringed. It was just one of those things but that is the way it goes I’m afraid.”

Aimee joked: “You’re like ‘hey, at least I look good,’ right?”

Mum-of-two Kirsty’s appearance at the 2009 Glamour Awards made headlines as the black dress became transparent. Loose Women star Coleen Nolan branded it her “worst nightmare” at the time.

Speaking in her Mirror column, she said: “Getting snapped in a see-through dress at a celeb party would be my idea of a total, total nightmare. You never quite know what a photographer’s flash is going to reveal until it is too late.

“But for Kirsty at the Glamour Awards nothing was left to the imagination. But you’ve got to hand it to her – as a young mum with a bod that good maybe it wasn’t such a disaster after all!”

Kirsty has subsequently hit-out at trolls who made lewd comments of a “wardrobe-malfunction” on Sky Sports News. In 2015 fans pointed out dots on her shirt and asked “if it was cold in the studio,” reports the Daily Star. Kirsty however pointed out it was the darts of her shirt.

She said: “For all those that have made lewd comments tonight… They’re the darts in my shirt!” with a crying laughing face.
