Holly Willoughby has kept quiet after her ex-This Morning colleague Phillip Schofield’s dramatic gesture of burning a list of his ‘enemies’ on his new Channel 5 programme.

Former This Morning presenter Holly, 43, who stepped away from the ITV programme in October 2023, has not commented on Phillip’s bizarre act on his show, Cast Away.

The fallen television icon, 62, left ITV when news of his affair with a younger male colleague came to light last year and claimed he had rid himself of negativity by setting ablaze a roster of individuals he resented and plunging into the sea.

The television presenter has sparked widespread speculation, reports the Mirror, after conducting the fiery ritual on a secluded isle off Madagascar, where he found himself ‘cast away’ as public opinion soured post his ‘imprudent yet lawful affair’.

He confessed to the camera: “There’s something I’ve done here that I haven’t shared with you yet, and now’s the time. Over the course of my 10 days, I have written down all the things and all the people who were and are toxic in my life and so I have that now, it’s there, that’s it.”

In a dramatic act onscreen, he tossed the papers bearing names into the fire before viewers could decipher them, uttering the words: “And now the toxic bank is empty, and the goodness bank is full. Don’t dwell on what you have lost. Live for what you have and be grateful for it.”

He further advised: “You have to be joyful about the future, no matter what the future might be.” The moment took a wild turn as he then dashed naked into the sea.

The programme saw the TV presenter leave the island after a ten-day stint, seemingly in great spirits and having clearly offloaded a host of issues. His actions on the show were bold; he set ablaze a list of those he despises, lambasted ITV for their decision to let him go and openly chastised former pals he accused of betrayal.

Furthermore, Schofield contended his affair was scrutinised unduly because it involved another man rather than a younger woman.

Throughout the revelations on the new Channel 5 series, Schofield also mentioned that exiting ITV led to the loss of many friendships, including with Holly, as indicated by their lack of interaction or communication across social channels.

Reflecting on past turmoil, he expressed his feelings: “When what happened to me happened to me, it screwed up my favourite building in the world, and it pretty well blew away all those happy memories, and suddenly the place became hostile to me, and that was heartbreaking. And the people who did it to me know, they know how important that building was to me.

“They know that when you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really bloody good reason to do it. Brand, ambition is not good enough.

“It’s not a good enough reason to throw someone under a bus”, he stated, highlighting the disingenuous nature of some relationships. He noted:”people can be so fake with you when it’s all going well, and suddenly utter, utter betrayal.”

He reflected on the tough times, stating: “When the tidal wave washed through and it washed everybody away,” and adding, “The ones that are still standing. They’re the ones that matter.

“And I thought: ‘How many friends do you need? I don’t need 200 fake friends’. I’ve got, what? Ten, 15 friends that I would die for, they would die for me.”.
