BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – People looking for ways to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene may be interested in volunteering with the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross Central Appalachia Region are looking for volunteers willing to help relief efforts.

The volunteers must be willing to travel this fall to help emergency shelters for major national disaster relief efforts. In the region, the Red Cross says teams are supporting people impacted by the Hurricane by providing meals, snacks, and cleanup kits to hard hit areas of McDowell and Mercer Counties and Scioto County in Ohio.

If you are interested in volunteering, you can do so on the volunteer page of the Red Cross website.

All candidates must complete necessary training, have a current driver’s license and be able to commit to a two week deployment.
