Police in Woodbridge, N.J. are investigating after a driver apparently died during a medical emergency while behind the wheel and then crashed into another vehicle.
The 76-year-old driver was pronounced dead at a hospital after the incident, which happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near the Wegman’s entrance on Main Street, Woodbridge police said. Officers smashed the SUV’s driver-side window to get him out.
The 32-year-old driver of the vehicle he rear-ended was uninjured, NJ.com reported. Neither vehicle was carrying passengers other than their respective drivers, police said.
Authorities did not release the names of either driver.
