A man issued a warning against pressing a certain button in your car, labelling it as “dangerous” – and he even advised drivers to steer completely clear of pressing it if they can.
Car expert @carknowledge_, who regularly shares car tips and tricks on TikTok, cautioned drivers about a button he claims “99% of drivers ignore” as it can end up being really “dangerous” for the driver and passengers alike.
“The button I’m talking about is this ‘off’ which is the vehicle body stabilisation system, also known as the vehicle anti-skid system,” he explained in the video.
The expert then shared this function is typically “enabled by default”, and drivers “must not touch it”. He warned if pressed, the anti-skid system would automatically deactivate, potentially causing the vehicle to slip or even roll when turning or accelerating sharply.
Experts at KBB agree that while traction control can be turned off, it’s “rare you’ll need to”. They advise keeping the safety feature activated during adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain, snow, or ice because this is when you’ll need anti-slip the most.
They cautioned: “Traction control can be the difference between staying on the road and crashing your car due to skidding, including when the roads are wet or icy.”
The experts advocate for keeping it active “most of the time”, advising it should remain on even when conditions “seem safe”, as a measure for ensuring peace of mind while driving.

One person said: “Fog light. Not for use mist light mist, haze, drizzle, sleet, overcast, wet or perfectly sunny days. Use it in fog. Somehow this is confusing for a lot of drivers.”
