A man revealed the best way to get fresher fries at McDonald’s – and it’s blowing minds.

Jonathan Paul Lambiase, an American content creator who runs popular food channel Hellthy Junk Food, claimed to have found a “true food hack” to enjoy McDonald’s better.

In his video, he explained: “The best way to eat McDonald’s – next time you hit the Drive-Thru, ask for medium fries with no salt.

“We all know they will make it hot and fresh this way, the new hack is when you roll up to the window, politely ask for them for a medium cup and salt packets.

“Pour in a few salt packets into the cup, dump in your fries and shake them up. With the residual oil, the salt will stick to the fries nicely, giving you hot, fresh salted fries.”

Jonathan added: “You can also secure your fries in the cup holder in the car – how convenient.” Then when you’re done, the empty cup can come in handy too.

The plastic cup doubles up as a “burger holder”, which you can slide the messy food into to avoid spillages or losing any toppings in your car.

He explained: “I honestly can’t think of any better ways to eat McDonald’s on the go.” And many agree with him!

One commenter said: “That’s amazing to ‘drink’ your fries.” And another added: “He’s living in 3022.”

But others weren’t convinced by the tip. One remarked: “They can just put the fries back in the fryer for five seconds to burn off the salt.”

And another pointed out: “You can just ask for fresh fries, don’t have to waste the cup and salt and it tastes the same.”

However, a McDonald’s worker said he hates it when people ask for fresh fries during peak hours. It can be inconvenient for workers to open new batches of fries, so do be mindful of this if trying the hack out yourself.

Tips for Getting Fresher Fries at McDonald’s:

1. Request “Fresh” Fries

  • Simply ask for your fries to be made fresh. Most McDonald’s locations are happy to accommodate this request, though you may need to wait a few extra minutes.

2. Check with the Staff

  • You can ask the staff directly when the next batch of fries will be ready and wait if the timeframe is short. Politeness goes a long way in getting good service.

3. Order Fries Without Salt

  • One of the most well-known tricks is to order your fries without salt. This typically requires the staff to prepare a new batch specifically for you. You can then add your own salt if you prefer.

4. Visit During Peak Hours

  • Go to McDonald’s during peak meal times (e.g., lunch and dinner hours). During these times, the restaurant is busier, and fries are being cooked more frequently, increasing the likelihood of getting a fresh batch.

5. Use the Mobile App:

  • Some mobile orders or app promotions might prompt the staff to prepare your food fresh. Additionally, you can often specify special requests in the app. For some, this can be less uncomfortable than making the request in person.
