AUSTIN, Texas — Lanes of the North Interstate 35 northbound service road are closed near the Capital Plaza shopping center as police investigate an incident.
The Austin Police Department (APD) said at around 10:40 a.m. Friday that officers were responding to a “shot/stab hotshot call” in the area, just south of the U.S. 290 split. APD said nearby lanes have been shut down, so drivers should expect delays.
Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) said medics responded to the incident around 10:20 a.m. and transported an adult patient to a local trauma center with critical, life-threatening injuries.
