On Friday’s episode of “A Place In The Sun,” a viewing went south as Diane and Nigel decided against even stepping inside one of the properties due to an immediate concern they identified.

The programme saw expert Lee Juggurnauth take the pair around various potential holiday homes in France, with £180K to spend. The couple were in search of a peaceful life where they could indulge in outdoor activities, as well as have space for their motorbikes and camper van, along with some DIY projects.

Initially impressed with the properties, things became uncomfortable with the third house when Diane and Nigel opted out of viewing it on noticing an issue straight away, despite it being described as “huge” and “tidy”.

Lee presented them with a spacious, four-bedroom modern townhouse, though its price was a tad above their budget, at £212,906. Diane immediately remarked: “Running through my mind is you’re going straight in from the pavement.”

Continuing her thoughts, she said: “I think it’s beautiful, it looks absolutely amazing, it looks so clean, so lovely but it’s that stepping in off the street – straight from the street into the front door, we’ve got a camper van which is our pride and joy and we go away in a lot,” reports the Mirror.

Expressing her concerns about the practicality, she added: “Our ideal is to bring that to France and bounce off to other places, I just think parking would be difficult here as it’s quite a busy street.

“So I think unfortunately it would have to be a no from me” she added, expressing her disinterest in even viewing the interior of the property: “No because it might be really really nice inside but that [the outside] it would be a no for me with the way the front is.”

However, later in the episode, expert Lee presented a Monflanquin bungalow with four bedrooms priced at £210,342, which the couple fell head over heels for. Diane was so moved by the perfect property that she needed to sit down.

In a twist of events, when the couple made their offer, they found themselves in a bidding war with another potential buyer. Initially offering £185,000, the pair increased their bid to their final offer of £197,500, which was accepted.
