TAZEWELL, Va. -Recently, the Friends of Tazewell County Community Cats Inc. had a fire in their building.

Sadly, the fire took the lives of six kittens, and all supplies the nonprofit had gathered.

While the organization is heartbroken, they are marching forward with plans to rebuild and grow stronger.

They ask for the community to help in their time of need.

“Our kittens were our babies. We’ve been babying them for three or four weeks trying to get them ready for rescue and with the fire we not only lost their beautiful lives, but we also lost all of our food, our litter, our trapping supplies and puppy pads,” said Sharon Sinall, Friends of Tazewell County Community Cats, Inc.

The nonprofit is accepting donations through their Facebook or you can call at 276-202-0450.

Due to resources being lost, the shelter is in need of Purina or Iams cat and kitten food, wet or dry.

The nonprofit is a TNR organization which stands for trap, neuter, and return. Over the past two years, the organization has drastically impacted the cat colonies in Tazewell County.
