A cheeky grandson made his gallus gran turn the air blue – as she branded him “a wee p****” in a hilarious FaceTime prank caught on camera.
Coplyn Gray’s ruse made his grandmother lose her cool after he tricked her into thinking he was slagging her off in a foul-mouthed rant behind her back.
The prankster, 28, filmed himself pretending to end a call with his 75-year-old gran, Janette, while continuing to speak about her in a clip which has now gone viral.
Coplyn, of Govan, Glasgow, said: “She’s a f****** pain in the a*** her, int she? F****** does my nut in. Talking a lot of s**** all the time about sky and all that. An old witch she is.”
His gran can be heard gasping in shock at his comments and, believing the call was genuine and wanting him to come back onto it, said: “How the f*** can I get him back?”
He then accused her of not paying her way, to which she said: “Alex come down and hear this wee p**** talking about me. Wait til I f****** see him.”
He then said: “I’ll remember that the next time we go to Five Guys.” His gran then repeatedly shouts his name, and says: “Coplyn! I can still hear you, you’ve not put me off.”
He pretended to be surprised and said: “Oh, hello! Gran, are you still there?” She replied: “Aye, I’m still here.” He said: “Alright? How are you, alright?”
She said: “Wait a wee minute, I want to tell you something. I offered to pay.” He then can’t contain his laughter and reveals the prank, saying: “Gran, I’m winding you up. I knew you were there the full time, I was videoing you.”
The hilarious clip has racked up more than 500,000 views on X, formerly Twitter. And Coplyn told the Record that the video had made a family prediction come true.
He said: “We always play jokes on each other, it was spontaneous. I didn’t pre-plan it until near the end of the FaceTime call as I know she struggles to hang up.
“Both of us are in stitches about the reaction. Family members have said for years she would go viral one day with some of the things she does and now she has.”
