Dark horse Craig Levein has revealed used to sport a NIPPLE RING.

The former Hearts, Dundee Utd and Scotland boss admitted he had the piercing while he was in charge at Leicester City 20 years ago, approaching his 40th birthday. He had left Hearts to take over at the Foxes just before Vladimir Romanov’s take over over the Tynecastle club, leaving the hot seat free for Jambos record goalscorer John Robertson to slip into.

However, he was sacked just over 14 months later with Leicester sitting third from bottom of the Championship and in danger of relegation. Whether that prompted Levein to ditch the concealed jewellery is unclear, but he freely admitted he wore the accessory for most of his time at the helm of the East Midlands club. Levein bared all on the Warm Up podcast, which left fellow guest and former Dundee Utd charge Scott Allan in stitches, along with hosts Gordon Duncan and Graeme Thewliss.

Levein: “I had a nipple ring once.”

Duncan : “That’s it, the exclusive you didn’t know you were getting. I don’t even know if it’s true. I don’t even want to know if it’s true.”

Allan: “That’s got a lads holiday written all over it.”

Thewliss: “Was it a bar or a ring?”

Levein: “It was a ring.”

Thewliss: “What year are we talking here?”

Levein: “Oh now you’re talking…”

Duncan: “Oh great, this is actually serious. I can’t believe this is happening.”

Levein: “It was when I was at Leicester so 2004?”

Duncan: “Seriously, it was that recently?”

Levein: “Aye. 2004 to 2006. I think I was at Leicester and I sported that nipple ring for about one-and-half years of that.
