A 67-year-old man was rushed to hospital following a serious assault in Paisley.

Police were called to Candren Road in the Renfrewshire town around 11.50pm on Friday, October 4, to reports of an assault.

The man was rushed to Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to injuries. Detectives have launched a probe into the attack and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Constable Colin Leggat of CID said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.

“I would also ask any motorists with dash-cams who were in the area to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could assist with the investigation.”
