Emergency services have raced to a Scots street following an explosion and a fire within a house.

Kellie Place in Alloa has been locked down following the horror incident around 6pm this evening.

Major roads in the town centre have been closed down, including the A907, B9096, Kellie Place and Tulibody Road.

Scottish Fire and Rescue say they have deployed a number of units including a ‘search and rescue’ team. It is not known if there are any injuries at this time.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 6.00pm on Sunday, 6 October, to multiple reports of an explosion and a fire within a house in Kellie Place, Alloa.

Operations Control immediately mobilised a number of resources to the scene including specialist Urban Search and Rescue units and a heavy rescue unit.

“Crews are working with emergency service partners to make the area safe.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6pm on Sunday, 6 October, 2024, police received a report of an explosion and a fire at a house in Kellie Place, Alloa. Emergency services are on the scene. Please avoid the area. Several roads are closed, including the A907, B9096, Kellie Place and Tullibody Road.”
