An American visited a British Maccies to see how menu items compared abroad.
The foodie, known as @ajslambino on TikTok, sampled a range of UK McDonald’s offerings and found one particular item he’d love to take back across the pond.
Eager to try what he couldn’t get in the States, he ordered a variety of items including the rich tomato dip, a double barbecue quarter pounder with cheese, and something entirely new to him.
In his haul were “garlic cheese bites,” a share box full of treats featured in his TikTok video, along with a Galaxy ice cream and a small portion of chips.
After trying the rich tomato dip, he remarked: “It doesn’t smell like ketchup so I don’t know what it is. It came with the cheesy bites so I’m thinking it’s tomato sauce.”
Then when tasting the dip and cheesy bite, he was ecstatic, exclaiming: “Oh my God, why don’t we have these in America? They’re amazing.”
The fries, however, which “tasted like fries,” failed to impress him much. We’re guessing they’re pretty similar no matter what Maccies outlet you go to!
When it came to the mayo chicken burger, it turned out to be a familiar item. “We just call it a chicken sandwich,” he noted, drawing a parallel between the US and UK McDonald’s menus.
His enthusiasm returned with the double barbecue quarter pounder with cheese, as he enjoyed it. He added “The BBQ adds a little kick to it.”
After sampling the dessert, he was thoroughly impressed and has since urged the American brand to take a leaf out of the UK’s book. “We got to get on this s*** here,” he exclaimed.
The TikTok comments echoed his sentiments about the UK McDonald’s offerings. One user stated: “I’ve just traveled across America and I can honestly say UK Maccies s***s all over US Maccies.”
