Volunteers wanted to help with tree removal(WVVA News)

MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. – There’s a call to gather volunteers to help with the clean-up effort for those who can’t afford it in Mercer County.

Mercer County’s emergency management director, Keith Gunnoe says the county and the city of Bluefield are trying to gather volunteers who are willing to help out fellow community members. Gunnoe says volunteers are needed to help make the possibility happen.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer should contact Gunnoe’s office at 304-487-8448.

The city of Bluefield is currently offering free help for city residents when it comes to cutting and removing tree debris but Gunnoe says they’re still in need of volunteers.

To report fallen trees in need of cutting you can call the city of Bluefield at 304-327-2401 ext. 2408.
