HINTON, W. Va. -A lot of the rain that flooded western North Carolina flowed into the New River, sending to West Virginia and Virginia.

Much of the debris washed away from North Carolina gathered behind the Bluestone Dam in Summers County. The army corps of engineers have been working to dissipate the flood debris.

This is what the water level looked like downstream of the dam on Sunday, September 29th.

This is what the water level downstream of the dam looked like on Monday, October 7th (about a week later).

As of Monday, October 7th, all seven gates of the Bluestone Dam are open and the process of clearing the flood debris continues.
