Celtic women are gearing up for a night of history in with their first match in the group stage of the Champions League.

Elena Sadiku’s side have been drawn in a glamour section in the competition with both Chelsea and Real Madrid in Group B alongside the Hoops.

But first up is Dutch side FC Twente who are big favourites for the game, but Swede Sadiku’s title-winning heroes will go into the game with confidence. Sadiku will make her own little piece of history by becoming the youngest, at the age of just 30, manager to lead a side in the competition.

Captain Kelly Clark spoke of her excitement ahead of the match and said: “It is big thing for me that as a team we worked really hard to get here so the biggest thing for me is that the players need to enjoy it.
