Proposals for a variation of licence at an Arran hotel have been given the green light by licensing chiefs.
Lochranza Country Inn applied to North Ayrshire Licensing Board for a variation of premises licence.
Representative Gavin Pritchard said: “The premises closed during Covid and I came into the project in March of last year.
“At the end of the first year, it was a changed environment. We are proud of what we have achieved and the community aspects are especially strong.
“The key thing we wanted to sort out was children and families. We have put a lot of emphasis on families.
“There was a link on the operating plan from the previous owners that children need a meal to be on the premises and we want to break that link and instead of an 8pm restriction on children it would be 9.30pm.”
The changes stipulate that children and young persons who are residents in the accommodation will have unrestricted access to the Inn when accompanied by a supervising adult.
Non-resident young persons will be allowed in the lounge bars, residents’ lounge, dining room and outdoor drinking area when accompanied by a responsible adult and their behaviour is not a disturbance to other guests.
Young persons’ access to the public bar area is only to proceed through to gain access to toilets and not loiter.
