Passengers onboard one of Australia’s biggest commercial airlines, Qantas, were left mortified after every screen on the plane started playing the same racy film.

Due to a technical glitch on the plane from Sydney to Tokyo, Japan, all screens onboard the flight displayed the same thing, leaving passengers unable to select anything else.

The only film available was the newly released Daddio, featuring Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn in lead roles. Passengers, including children then had to sit through the nearly 10 hour flight as the explicit film.

Such was the annoyance of one passenger at the glitch, that they took to Reddit to share their feelings: “Qantas played an inappropriate movie to the whole plane, there was no way to turn it off,”

“It was impossible to pause, dim, or turn it off. Here’s the kicker: the movie they played was extremely inappropriate. It featured graphic nudity and a lot of sexting – the kind where you could literally read the texts on screen without needing headphones.

“It took almost an hour of this before they switched to a more kid-friendly movie, but it was super uncomfortable for everyone, especially with families and kids on-board. Qantas is now reviewing how the movie was selected.”

A spokesperson for the airline told the Daily Mail Australia: “The movie was clearly not suitable to play for the whole flight and we sincerely apologise to customers for this experience.

“All screens were changed to a family friendly movie for the rest of the flight, which is our standard practice for the rare cases where individual movie selection isn’t possible.”

The raunchy film that was released in cinemas last year features characters played by Sean Penn and Dakota Johnson who first meet after Clark (played by Sean) picks her up in his taxi before the pair begin opening up on all aspects of their lives.
