Christmas is still a good while off, but Coca-Cola is already embracing the yuletide cheer with the release of a special edition flavour of their renowned fizzy beverage.

A Tesco shopper was surprised to find two-litre bottles of zero sugar Cinnamon Coca-Cola sitting on the supermarket‘s shelves this week, sparking a flurry of conversation amongst Coke enthusiasts online about the seasonal drink’s comeback after four years. A picture of the bottles posted on the New Foods UK Facebook page set tongues wagging, with many eager to relish the taste once more.

“I do like the cinnamon flavoured cola, although I think it only comes out around this time of year for Xmas time then disappears again afterwards,” wrote one user on Facebook. “Anyway it’s very nice.”

“Love this stuff, wish it was available all year round,” another one chimed in. Meanwhile, a third joked: “This is not a drill! I need it!” Someone else also described the unique appeal, saying: “It’s not for everyone, but I like it a lot when I’ve had it. Coca-Cola with an after taste of cinnamon, not too strong either.”

However, not everyone was tempted to try it. One critic questioned the variety of flavours saying: “Who comes up with the flavours I mean cola is okay with lemon and lime and vanilla and cherry, but cinnamon? Not something I’d want to try doesn’t sound appealing.”

A second Coke enthusiast shared their reservations: “I’m not sure if I’d like 2 try Cinnamon Coke don’t like the sound of that. I wish Coke Cola should bring backk the Diet Vanilla Coke, that was delicious.”

Meanwhile, a third shared past experiences, saying: “Oh I remember this. It came out one year only a long time ago. I tried it, was ok nothing special. It’s good to see its coming back again. I may try it again just to see if the favourite has changed.”

In other reactions, some consumers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the drink’s zero sugar formula. “Why do Coca-Cola insist on making it zero sugar when it’s flavoured? ” demanded one displeased soda drinker. Coke Zero is awful!”

Another critic voiced a similar sentiment, saying: “Why just on Zero! I can’t stand it or Diet Coke. If I drink Coca-Cola it’s always the full fat original.”

Those looking to purchase a two-litre bottle of Cinnamon Coca-Cola will find it priced at £1.85 in Tesco the same cost as the other products in Coca-Colas Zero line, including the standard Zero, Zero Caffeine-Free, Zero Lemon, and Zero Cherry variants.

Last month, Coca-Cola found itself in an awkward position, having to extend an apology to fans following the announcement that the brand plans to cease the production of its Zero Vanilla flavour.
