IRVINE, Calif. (KCAL/KCBS) – Whether motorists love the Tesla Cybertruck or hate it, they wouldn’t like having this one in the rearview mirror.
The police department in Irvine, California, became the first to employ the unusual vehicle in the line of duty.
Even though it may look like “Robocop” is behind the wheel, the truck that Elon Musk built won’t even give out a ticket.
It’s only being used for community outreach.
Some residents say it’s kind of silly to have spent $153,000 on such a thing.
To that, Irvine police say a typical police cruiser costs $116,000, and they only last for three or four years.
The Cybertruck is expected to be in service for a decade.
