Justin Timberlake’s US tour has been disrupted due to an unexpected ‘injury’ that is preventing the star from performing.

The singer, 43, took to Instagram last night to announce to fans that he has had to cancel his show at New Jersey’s Prudential Centre at the last minute.

While the star didn’t go into details about his injury or how it is preventing him from performing, he admitted he is ‘so disappointed’ and is ‘working to reschedule as soon as possible’.

‘I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show,’ Justin wrote in a black and white Instagram post.

‘I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I’m so disappointed to not see you all – but I’m working to reschedule. ASAP.

‘I promise to make it up to you and give you the show y’all deserve.’

Thanking his fans for understanding, he signed off the post by telling them: ‘Appreciate your support always.’

The star did not reveal whether he will continue with his next show, which is scheduled to take place on Friday in Philadelphia.

This month, he also has shows in Washington, Toronto, Buffalo, Columbus, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and Saint Paul.

Fans quickly took to the comment section with well wishes. Ebren wrote: ‘Get well soon J ❤️❤️ we love you’.

Filo90x added: ‘Feel better soon J, praying for you! We love you’, while Jeff_dmk commented: ‘Please take Care champ’ 🙏🙏 You’re a powerhouse but health goes first !!!’

‘Omg no! You know it’s bad when he has to cancel 🙁 feel better @justintimberlake 😢,’ jlinphl83 wrote.

Justin’s announcement comes just four months after he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving through a stop sign and failing to stay on the right side of the road.

His arrest took place on June 18 at 12:37am in Sag Harbor, a wealthy area in the Hamptons, New York. He initially faced a maximum one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 (£1,911) fine.

However, last month it was revealed that the Cry Me A River singer will not face drunk driving charges after he, his lawyer, Eddie Burke Jr. and Judge Carl Irace reached a plea agreement.

While the details of the deal have been sealed, it’s understood the star pleaded guilty to a reduced violation charge of driving with ability impaired and agreed to pay a fine of $500 (£380) with a surcharge of $260 (£200).

Justin is also obligated to do 25 hours of community service and make a public safety announcement.

In the announcement, he said: ‘There are so many alternatives, call a friend, take an Uber, take a taxi. This is a mistake that I made but I hope everyone watching and listening can learn from this mistake.’

Despite the plea, the 10-time Grammy winner’s driving license will still be suspended in New York, TMZ reported, because he allegedly refused to take a breathalyser test – a move which is said to trigger an automatic year-long suspension from the roads.

Justin is currently on his The Forget Tomorrow World Tour which is taking place in the US and scheduled to return to Europe next year.
