A feud between King Charles and Prince Andrew over the future of the Royal Lodge is reportedly causing divisions within the Royal Family. A source told Bella Weekly that there was no consensus among senior royals about how to handle Andrew, who ceased his Royal duties two years ago.

They suggested that some family members felt the Duke wasn’t receiving the protection he deserved.

The source also speculated on whether the rifts were related to loyalties to the late Queen Elizabeth II: “The situation with Andrew and the Royal Lodge has somewhat divided the family – or at least shown who is still stuck on loyalties to their mother, the previous monarch.

“Anne, Sophie and Edward are all disappointed with how Charles has handled it. There are fallouts with Beatrice and Eugenie who are deeply concerned Andrew is not being protected.”

Reports suggest an ongoing dispute between King Charles and his younger brother over both Andrew’s presence in the Royal Lodge and the cost of its upkeep.

Bella Weekly reported that the building costs half a million pounds annually to maintain.

Earlier this month, the Daily Express reported that Andrew was beginning to feel the effects of the Crown Estate’s lease rules.

Reports have emerged that Prince Andrew is required to confirm he can afford ongoing repairs for the Royal Lodge, or he may face eviction.

A source disclosed: “Andrew has been asked to prove that he has the financial resources in place to conduct the necessary repairs to Royal Lodge.”

They continued to detail the potential outcome: “If he is unable to do that by the end of the year, formal discussions will be held with the Crown Estate about how best to move forward. It’s the closest Andrew has come to being evicted since he was asked to step down as a working royal two years ago.”

Additionally, the Duke of York‘s security has come under scrutiny after King Charles opted not to renew the costly 10-man team protecting him.

A source noted to The Sun: “Everyone is speculating this means the Duke will have to leave the Royal Lodge because what other reason could there be to take his security away? ”

They added: “They are all working the final weeks of their contract till the end of October. It’s not thought anyone is being lined up to replace them. It isn’t a secret that the King wants him out.”

Buckingham Palace has been asked to provide a statement on the issue by The Scottish Daily Express.
