Viewers of Good Morning Britain were treated to a change in the presenting line-up on Wednesday’s show.

The usual pairing of Susanna Reid with either Ed Balls or Richard Madeley was switched up, as Martin Lewis, the money-saving expert, took a leading role.

Susanna greeted viewers with enthusiasm, before introducing her colleague, turning to him she commented: “Martin, it’s wonderful to have you back in the studio!”

Martin Lewis, with a smile, responded: “It’s wallet Wednesday.”

The GMB presenter explained that Martin was there for a crucial segment, aiming to assist people with their soaring energy bills, reports the Mirror.

Despite having been on the show just two weeks prior, Susanna pointed out that the energy price cap had since jumped by 10%.

To which Martin acknowledged: “I wasn’t quite sure we’d be doing this but there’s a lot that’s changed.”

Throughout the broadcast, Martin Lewis provided real-time help to three viewers who joined them in the studio, all grappling with whether to fix their energy tariffs or switch providers following the 10% hike in the energy price cap.

After some quick calculations and comparisons, several viewers found ways to significantly reduce their energy expenses.

In a conversation with one particular guest, Susanna probed into what had held her back from addressing her energy concerns before coming on the show.

The guest candidly replied: “Honestly? I am a busy mum of two. I work and if we’ve survived the day the thought then of going onto my energy site and finding a password that I’ve forgotten it all just feels like too much.”

However, Martin quickly interrupted her, enquiring about the actual time it took to manage her energy bill.

With a laugh, she responded: “I have to say, I’m embarrassed at how quick it was. It was less than three minutes for me to get a list of comparisons.”

Viewers didn’t hesitate to share their excitement over Martin’s return to the programme alongside Susanna.
