A Crianlarich estate has been recognised at a national awards ceremony which aims to celebrate those who make “exceptional contributions” to the rural economy.

Glenfalloch Estate won the Enhancing Our Environment through Land Management Award at the Helping It Happen Awards 2024, one of 11 businesses, alliances, and individuals to be given a gong in rural Scotland.

The estate has embarked on a transformational landscape-scale recovery project emanating from the environmental masterplan written in 2021, focussed on restoring peatland, increasing woodland cover using seed sourced and grown on the estate, and plans to restore meadow and wetland habitat whilst also reducing herbivore impact.

The glittering award ceremony took place in Edinburgh on Wednesday, October 2.

Alongside recognising the exceptional contributions made in the sector, the awards also celebrate employment, inspiring education, precious wildlife conservation, community wellbeing and critical environmental stewardship.

Sarah-Jane Laing, chief executive of Scottish Land & Estates, said: “The inspiring Helping It Happen awards publicly recognise the often unsung heroes in rural Scotland.
