As a beauty journalist, I have had the pleasure of getting the chance to try out some popular products over the past few years.

While there have been a few standouts I could mention, one that has taken the top spot this year has been the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré Moisturiser. If, like me, you love a multi-tasking hero, then this should be in your cosmetics bag.

Fortunately, Amazon’s behemoth Prime Big Deal Days has slashed this “timeless” cream to its lowest price, as a 75ml is down from £20 to £14.15. Meanwhile, at Sephora UK its would cost you £16.25, while Lookfantastic offers it for £16.49.

Why is this one of the best deals for me? Well, it’s because this affordable French cream has been a go-to for celebrity stylists for many years. A viral icon in its own right, it is said to be loved by Michelle Keegan and Lady Gaga among many A-lister’s.

Unlike a lot of similar products on the market, this multi-tasking lotion acts as a six-in-one treatment. This means it can be used as a moisturiser, primer, make-up remover, moisturising mask, aftershave cream and even as a baby product.

It’s also packed with skin-nourishing ingredients. We’re talking aloe vera and shea butter, which both work to leave your skin feeling “supple” and “non-greasy”, without leaving a shiny residue behind.

With an impressive 4.5 rating alone on Amazon, alongside over 21,000 reviews, the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré Moisturiser has cemented itself as a beauty icon over the years. After trialling it myself back in July, here were a few of my own thoughts.

Beauty expert Rachel Williams’ thoughts on the French cream

When I first reviewed the cream back in July, I found that, despite its “thinner than expected” texture, that a little really did go a long way. Initially used as a moisturising mask, I found that it glided onto my skin pretty easily.

While it did feel a tad on the greasy side, it did melt into my skin pretty quickly, leaving it velvety-soft and smooth all day long. I also tested it as a primer, and my makeup stayed flawless all night long, with not even a single crease in my foundation.

I even used it as a generic moisturiser during the evenings and my skin was still exceptionally soft and nourished in the morning, which can be difficult for my dry skin type.

As I have continued using the French cream since my first trial, I have found that it does virtually everything and is an absolute multi-tasking marvel every women needs in her cosmetics bag. My only drawback was its slightly ‘richer’ texture that could be quite heavy for some skin types.

As a convert to the iconic cream, I can safely say that I agree with many of its glowing five-star reviews. It’s one beauty product that has lived up to its hype and has helped me to tackle a variety of skin and beauty concerns with just one cream.

Meanwhile, another celeb-approved product I also rate for being a multi-tasker is Astral’s Intensive Original Face & Body Cream. Currently just £9.99 for 500ml at Superdrug, this cream is a staple for Joanna Lumley who said she has been using it “for 40 years.”

For fans of Marilyn Monroe, it is said that the Hollywood starlet was once a fan of Pond’s Cold Cream. Also said to be used by Dolly Parton, this cream can be bought for £14.91 for a 172g jar.
