Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may be over for good, but that doesn’t mean Ben can escape the highly publicized relationship.
The former couple‘s love story captured the world’s attention when they reunited in 2021, two decades after they famously broke off their engagement.
From there, singer, 55, and Batman actor, 52, tied the knot in two separate ceremonies in 2022, seemingly having found their happily ever after.
But it made headlines everywhere as all signs pointed towards a rift in the marriage earlier this year.
Although neither addressed the rumors publicly, J Lo filed for divorce in August, finally putting a tragic end to a decades-long love story.
Now, as both attempt to repair their lives, Ben is aware he won’t be escaping speculation about the marriage anytime soon.
This week, Lopez broke her silence on the split, speaking candidly about her heartbreak in an interview with Interview Magazine, calling the experience ‘sad’ and ‘scary.’
‘Ben knows she will talk about the breakup forever,’ an insider shared with DailyMail.com.
‘She’s made albums and documentaries about their two relationships.’ Affleck would prefer to keep some parts of their relationship private, but he understands that Lopez is known for processing her emotions publicly, according to the insider.
‘He would love for her not to talk about it, but he feels she will always speak out,’ the source continued. ‘It’s a part of his life, just as much as anything else, and he knows he’s never going to escape it.’
Lopez’s decision to publicly address the breakup is not out of character, as she has been open about her personal life throughout her career.
While Ben may prefer to keep things low-key, he is reportedly ‘OK with however Jen has to deal with it,’ understanding that people handle breakups differently.
In her recent interview, the Jenny From the Block singer shared that she has come to a place of self-acceptance, saying, ‘When you sit in those feelings and go, “These things are not going to kill me,” it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me.’
The breakup was undeniably tough for Lopez, who admitted that the emotional fallout ‘almost took me out for good,’ but she has no regrets, she was careful to clarify.
Ben shares three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner – Violet, 18, Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12 – while Lopez is a mother to 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
