Prince George’s dream career has been revealed – and it might surprise a few royal fans.
The future King’s future will be a break from tradition as, unlike his counterparts who came before including father Prince William, he won’t be expected to do a stint serving in the armed forces after a change in legislation.
But according to a source who witnessed the young royal displaying a passion for getting creative in the kitchen, George could have his sights set on something altogether different when he grows up – running a pizza parlour.
According to Norfolk landowner Desmond MacCarthy, who owns Wiveton Hall Cafe, George, 11, was so excited to visit his eatery and was the most impressed with his wood-fired pizza oven, so much so he declared: “That’s what I want to do when I grow up!”
MacCarthy, who starred on BBC 2 documentary Normal For Norfolk, told the Mail: “He was a sweet boy – they start to become less appealing as they grow up.”
George had been at the restaurant with his mum Kate Middleton as well as a few other people and it’s thought the family had been staying at their nearby holiday home at Anmer Hall on Sandringham Estate. Desmond went on:”They came here with their friends, because Sandringham isn’t that far away.” But unfortunately he won’t get any work experience at Wiveton Hall as it closes its doors next month after 17 years in business.
Desmond said: “‘There has been an increase in costs, with electricity very high, and it has been harder to recruit staff.
”Despite having a very busy summer, it is difficult to run a business 12 months a year if it is seasonal and only profitable for a few months.”
And it’s not hard to imagine why George would want to go into the Italian cuisine business, as we’ve previously reported that Kate has revealed his and his siblings’ fondness for pizzas, as well as pasta.
Kate, when visiting St Luke’s Community Centre near Liverpool, shared that George and Charlotte love making pizzas with her as it gets their hands messy.
Celeb chef Aldo Zilli has joked in the past: “I’m waiting for the call because apparently, his (William’s) little boy’s favourite is spaghetti carbonara, so I’m waiting for the call to go and cook it for him.
“If George has my carbonara, he will never have another one!”
Following the change to the armed forces rule, reports suggest that when Prince William ascends the throne, he may introduce other “radical” changes within the Royal Family.
It’s believed these alterations could allow Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who are third and fourth in line to the throne, the freedom to carve out their own lives without the obligation of becoming working royals.
This would mark a significant departure from the traditional expectations of the monarchy, where the monarch’s relatives typically engage in royal duties to support the sovereign and broaden the influence of the crown.
Although Prince William is reportedly aware of the financial burden the monarchy places on taxpayers and is eager to reduce it, such a dramatic reduction in the number of working royals might leave the Windsors understaffed.
According to The Daily Beast, insiders have suggested that the “working assumption” is that Charlotte and Louis will not become working royals, but instead will be encouraged to carve out their own futures.
