Soup season has officially arrived.

With the temperatures dropping, grey skies overhead and many of us cranking up the heating to fight off the chill, there’s now another comforting way we can warm up. Lauren Scully, known as @leanwithlaurenx on TikTok, is renowned for her healthy recipes. However, her concept for a “zero calorie” soup has sparked excitement among those seeking to enjoy delicious food while shedding pounds.

She doesn’t suggest consuming it as a standalone meal. Instead, Lauren says it is an excellent supplement to incorporate more wholesome elements into your diet. Given its health benefits, you can pair it with a sandwich or wrap for an additional nutritional kick. As it contains minimal calories, it’s not something you need to monitor.

In a frank video detailing the recipe, she stated: “This has zero calories, and it’s an absolute game changer when trying to lose weight. It’s officially soup season and, I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love autumn.

“The key to fat loss is bulking up on your micronutrients, but sometimes you don’t want a salad for lunch. This is where my zero calorie soup comes in.”

Lauren explained that all you need to do is grab a bag of vegetable soup mix. Then pour in two tins of chopped tomatoes. Add a pinch of pink salt, some mixed herbs and garlic. Dissolve two stock cubes in boiling water, pour into the soup mix and let it simmer on the stove.

After cooking, simply blend the mixture, and that’s it. Lauren described the recipe as easy and “unreal” in taste, also suggesting it’s great for dipping toasties. The recipe is an ideal way to incorporate more vegetables into your diet, or your child’s, during winter, and it can be prepared quickly.

The video has been viewed hundreds of times, with many commenting on the recipe. Those who have tried it described it as “perfect”. Some viewers pointed out that the soup can’t contain zero qualities, but Lauren’s point was that it’s extremely healthy and low in calories.

One commenter asked: “Is it 0 calories, or hardly any calories?” While another inquired: “How many calories?”
