BAY VILLAGE, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) – A runaway Halloween display in Ohio caused problems for a police officer trying to wrangle it.

Dashcam footages show a Bay Village police officer attempting to move a giant, 15-foot inflatable pumpkin that had blown away from a yard and into the street.

The Bay Village Police Department said the officer was sent to the area of Wolf Road and Saddler Road in the early hours of Oct. 14 after someone called in the “runaway pumpkin.”

“Oh yeah, I see it,” the officer is heard saying in the dashcam footage.

As the officer moves toward the pumpkin, it is blown in his direction, appearing to swallow the officer whole.

For a few moments, the dashcam footage is completely blocked by the pumpkin as it is knocked against the officer’s cruiser. Soon after, the police officer reappears from underneath.

“Going on record, this is going to be tough to move,” the officer is heard saying.

Eventually, with the help of another officer, the inflatable display was moved out of the roadway and into a yard.

“Luckily, no officers (or pumpkins) were harmed during the event,” the police department confirmed.
